The Biltmore House

Take a self-guided tour of this 250-room mansion – it will take you at least two hours to see everything. You can step back in time and see paintings from masters such as Renoir, and you can look at the fine detail that went into weaving all of the tapestries throughout the house. You will also find that the house has a number of very modern features, including a bowling alley and an indoor pool.

The Gardens

Take a walk around the estate and through the beautifully landscaped gardens such as the Italian Garden, Walled Garden, and Spring Garden. You will find a variety of different flora, all of which perfectly compliments the lay of the land. Guided tours through this area are also available at additional charge.

River Bend Farm

Head on over to River Bend Farm to see what life was like in the 1890s. Located on the estate grounds, you can see craft demonstrations, animals, as well as authentic farm tools from the era.

You will also discover many more things on the grounds, such as trails for hiking, biking, carriage rides, river floats, and even sporting clays. In addition to all of the activities, you can also do shopping at the estate and dine in one of their many fine eateries.

Everyone in the family will have a great time exploring the magical Biltmore Estate and surrounding grounds.

What an amazing area to visit. I find out more about North Carolina all the time. I had no idea the National Gingerbread House Contest is in Asheville. What more could you want for the holidays!

Got something to say?
